That’s the core rule almost every legitimate hauler follows, and it’s not arbitrary: transporting and disposing of hazardous waste requires specific permits, training, and facility partnerships that go beyond what standard junk removal covers — some specialized haulers exist specifically for hazardous material handling, but that’s a different service category. Many common items — including furniture, appliances, yard debris, construction materials, and electronics — are typically accepted by standard junk removal services, subject to the hauler’s specific policies.

Where to Actually Take These Items
Riverside County’s Free HHW Program
Paint, motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, and propane tanks are all accepted categories under the county’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program. The nearest permanent drop-off facility to Menifee is in Murrieta at 25315 Jefferson Avenue, open Saturdays 9 AM–2 PM (weather and holidays permitting). Transport limit is 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle, per visit.
